Movies everyone should see at least once: Rebel Without a Cause

Rebel Without a Cause
Oh James Dean.  You could have gone on to do such great things had you not had crashed your car and died tragically young.  Rebel Without a Cause was released a short time after James Dean’s death.  The film was deemed to represent the ‘moral decay of American Youth’ and to question parenting.  I first watched Rebel Without a Cause for a Film Studies and Analysis class I was taking at University.  While I thought that Dean’s character wasn’t as bad as some guys I knew and thought the idea of the character of Judy being treated as someone’s ‘property’, the themes were universal:  parents who didn’t understand their teenagers and teenagers wanting to fit in and be accepted by their parents.
